The Mustang is one of the best-known aircraft of all time. Apart from the examples flown at air shows and displays in the original colour schemes they are also flown at various air races, including the most famous event of all, held at Reno, Nevada. Minor modifications are required to render the machines competitive, and - of course - they are also given specially distinctive colour schemes. Our model is of entirelyall-wood construction with reinforcements at critical points. The individual model components are supplied factory-built and covered in multi-colour film, and the GRP cowl is painted in two colours. This reduces the assembly process to just a few stages. The rudder and elevator are actuated using the proven Direct Steel System (DSS). Aileron and landing flap servos are installed close to the control surfaces to ensure slop-free linkages. Assembly boils down to joining the two wing panels, installing the fin and tailplane, and fitting the glowplug motor and RC system. The model can be equipped with either a fixed or retractable undercarriage.
